Whiskey Neat 04:15
my new place is inside your suitcase i fold neatly into a square this whole town fits into your atlas its not hard to find me in there my new place is lost in your airwaves we broadcast from towers downtown we field signals off of small airplanes we arrange their arrivals inbound my only home is the one where i go in the shadowy glow of an empty street my only one is a woman i know who could never let go of her whiskey neat hey-ey! my new time is under an hour i sink easy into my chair we run trains right under the ocean its dark in the tunnels down there my new state's suspended by gold gates red brake lights lined up in the dark we all live through manners of traffic we all dream of places to park my only home is the one where i go in the shadowy glow of an empty street my only one is a woman i know who could never let go of her whiskey neat hey-ey!

FM Radio 03:04
so much is made of what we're made of i can barely stay involved cause all i need are batteries and high fidelity to call my own i'm tuning in to what begins as something simple as a song so that you see me for the purpose i was made for all along i'm an fm radio, take me with you when you go i'll be your carry-on, don't need no television show it's such a modern world, but maybe all you need to know is how to turn me on, and leave your troubles at the door i started small when i was all but just some wires in a fray they're building towers for me now so i can reach you when you're far away you'd be surprised to hear the kinds of things i really want to say so listen in and i'll begin the second you'll be pressing play i'm an fm radio, take me with you when you go i'll be your carry-on, don't need no television show it's such a modern world, but maybe all you need to know is how to turn me on, and leave your troubles at the door

step out to the balcony and watch the lights go out with me until the buildings sleep follow me to the rooftop where from fire escapes and spiral stairs we breath the midnight air its quiet here like it never is the heartbeat of our metropolis is like a clenched up fist it wouldn't hurt for you to take a chance to sing along with an ambulance cause when she comes to pass she sings for all the company that we consume we're lonely as a hotel room out in the avenues we need another change of scenery where you might lay down next to me forget the concrete sea we'll find a place where we can pass the time trace a new horizon line out of our own design we'll seek shade in the overpass fall asleep in taller grass and as the cars roll past we'll sing and as the days roll by like blinking traffic lights we'll stack our hopes on high like silent super cranes we'll turn an old terrain into a stronger frame
4.
Redeye 04:06
the lights on the runway blinking on and on and on guide us in darkness on the lines that we belong after the takeoff we'll climb into the clouds without ever knowing just when we're coming down awake on the redeye listenin' to the sound of the engines cutting through the clouds
5.
High Beams 03:04
from the backs of cars we don't see the stars we bury them in high beams bury them in high beams from the roofs of buildings how my heart proceeds shining like those high beams shining like those high beams we're made of the sun our jet trails are spun out tracing off letters to their lost ones we're orbiting clouds, just waiting around from the distant harbors we'll travel farther carry on like high beams carry on like high beams through the emptiness we won't be remiss we're turning on those high beams turning on those high beams we're made of the sun our jet trails are spun out tracing off letters to their lost ones we're orbiting clouds, just waiting around until i hear you say it i don't worry about fading away i won't be fading away i'll be here steady and bright no, i don't worry bout fading away i won't be fading away i'll be here shining all night fading away, fading away
6.
running, i almost lost you but i was rescued, the nick of time crossing the desert, i read your letter i put the car in drive i don't want to waste my younger years feel it when they start to disappear no i don't want to waste my younger years so come on over here and hold me close funny the only bad thing about your acting is when you lie i see the truth is hurtin' behind a curtain, inside your eye you don't want to waste your younger years feel it when they start to disappear no you don't want to waste your younger years so come on over here and hold me close
7.
Forgone 03:30
the fall of rome's coming home our decline, red wine & late night talk shows time to turn the cameras off, pack a box and throw the rest out the window think of something that you've forgone all you used to once rely on the fall of rome's coming home the empire's grown tired, delayed postponed pick up the receiver don't believe you won't become just the hum of the dial tone think of something that you've forgone find a place your name will live on and when our bodies are tired we'll lay them down in wet grass beneath a satellite dish a freeway overpass and when our bodies are gone we'll find ourselves a new place beyond the city's soft lights an empty parking space
8.
well i've been going down, downtown but not making a sound cables are sighing underground saying the skyline's upside down and i'm in between them i increase the density of light to travel on it every night i get so lost in it despite the odd complication
9.
a lonely tire rolls the sidewalks down on woodward avenue these empty buildings never bothered me so long as i'm with you we'll take a walk outside and listen to the humming in the wires like all the bricks inside the hotel room the morning of the fire the sky will open for an evening show sometime this afternoon for every parking lot to know the warmth of sunshine on it soon the grass is growing through the floorboards of abandoned factories things find a way of turning out the way they were supposed to be cause you and i could raise a city from the dead or you and i we could save ourselves instead
10.
Indefinitely 03:00
lie down, settle your bones in the darkest of night, alright alright state of mind like a dotted line you never sign, you never sign don't want to walk the road alone but its been coming on for what feels like so long and i've been known to wander on and on and on indefinitely night sky, oversupply of the faint yellow lights, alright alright don't make a sound, they're coming down they're coming down, around us watch over me now i'm a little unwell you can't tell, you can't tell but i've been tied to the mast since the last go-round watch over me now, i'm a little unwise, no surprise and i won't be back on track till the clock turns back to the day you got away
11.
you're like a traffic light that's every color but black & white i knew it from the start you go from broken to work of art it's such an accident the things we're coming to represent but i'll be glad to stick around things find a way of working out our affection's an intersection we sit and wait for the lights to change idle engines humming in between gears my projection for reelection hangs in the balance from day to day but something tells me that you like it that way your inflection's a rhythm section your inflection's a rhythm section your inflection's a rhythm section you're like a traffic light that's every color but black & white i knew it from the start you go from broken to work of art it's such an accident the things we're coming to represent but i'll be glad to stick around things find a way of working out our direction is lost in the sun we run the wheel in the cage all day but i'll be damned if we don't power this town imperfection is our connection tectonic plates tend to drift away but they still form the continental divide your inflection's a rhythm section your inflection's a rhythm section your inflection's a rhythm section
12.
someday, all of this will be yours and you'll leave home like a jet down the avenue one way, off to answer for seeing it things ain't the same anymore and that day, when nothing seems so sure then you can trust in the hands of the universe to point you, toward an opening door and mark my words you'll making a place of your own, your own before too long you'll be on to a place of your own, your own your way, well that'll only be yours and i can't promise you'll live like royalty but listen, keep yourself so strong let nothing shake the foundation of who you are cause you've come so far and of your path you're the only authority be hopeful, for a winding road and as you grow you'll know you've a place of your own, your own before too long you'll be on to a place of your own, your own

about

Recorded over the span of two years in a small home studio in San Francisco, Will Weston's "Quiet, Sirens" is the official long-awaited debut for the singer/songwriter. Persistently observational of the diverse city it was created in, the record seemingly reflects a period of intense development- both personally, through first-person accounts of an inhabitant of a dense and evolving city, and sonically, as an undeniable consistency begins to manifest within the approach to the music. Guitar-driven hooks lay the foundation for borderline pop melodies, graced with complex vocal and instrumental harmonies, and backed by a tight and talented rhythm section of Dan Manian (bass guitar) and Marcus Cohen (trumpet). Produced by veteran Bay Area rocker Rick McKay, these 12 tracks reveal years of quiet work and an obsession to detail that translates into a diverse and deliberate collection, a response to the "voices" of sighing bus pistons and car alarms, beating to the rhythm of a city's heartbeat.
